One thing I have made sure to do is teach my children that Memorial Day Weekend is not just for the opening of the swimming pool, or the first big cookout of the season...

...and yes, I know, memorial day is for remembering the fallen soldiers, but why not thank those who are still here and able to know our thanks?
I agree. The soldiers who died for this country are not the only ones who have suffered.
