Wish me luck!

Not long after my last breakup, I had a post about cutting my hair when ever I break up with someone, or a man breaks my heart... I had 4 or 5 inches cut off then.
Last week I had another 4 or 5 inches cut off. It still doesn't feel right. I have an appointment tomorrow to have the rest of it cut off. Short. As of last November, it was about waist length. As of tomorrow, it will look something like this:

I haven't had it this short since Hawk and I "officially" broke up the first time, which was about... 2002? My hair grows so fast, if I want it long again it won't take long...
My long hair has always been the one feature that everyone commented on, especially men... I think maybe one reason for cutting it off is to stop that attention... I am done with judging my worth by what others (especially men) think about me...
Maybe, too, the one way to "fit in" in Hick County is to look the part... Plus, 110° weather and long thick hair don't mix well... I have just been too stubborn to cut it for the last few years... Don't think this is an easy decision, though, I am nervous as hell... I think I have a "masculine" face, and feel a bit "butch" when my hair is short, but I will just have to get over that...

Yea! for you! The cut is cute in the pic. I'm sure it will look great on you. I had long hair in high school. After that, I cut and permed it shorter. Once I moved down here, it being SO HOT all the time, I got it cut short too. Been that way ever since. Oh, I let it grow once, to my shoulder blades. Kept it in a french braid or pony all the time. One day I thought "why am I doing this?" and went and got it cut off again. Love it Love it Love it.
Good luck. I hope you like it.

I had hair below my butt in kindergarten, and then I would get headaches from sitting on it, so my dad made them cut it off... I never had the patience to grow it out after that until I got out of school... With short hair, at about age 10, I was mistaken for a boy, and I don't have a very girly face, so I have always had a hang-up about feeling unfeminine with short hair... But that's silly, no one could mistake me for a guy now...lol And it will be so much easier to deal with...

I have had long hair for most of my life. It was down past my butt before kindergarten and its thick and very curly and refuses to lay flat so my mother had it chopped off 2 and 1/2 inches long all over my head. i hid for hours after it was done and was mistaken for a boy several times. i grew it long again and then in middle school decided i wanted shoulder length hair and a perm like all of the other girls. I didn't need a perm but i got one anyway. That was a disaster. My hair has never been short again. Its to the middle of my back now, all one length and is still very curly. I have to use the products that black people use to keep it under control. Short cuts just make the curls that much worse. I think its interesting that you cut your hair after you break up with a man. The Native American Indians used to cut there hair short when they were grieving.

Good luck! Send pictures!

:D

I'd allow my hair to grow but it's so darn thick it would just be a giant red afro. I'd look like a cross between Howdy Doody and one of Dolemite's beyotches!
